Generations across the Arab world grew up in the 1980s-2000s with iconic educational shows that shaped identity, language, and imagination. Today, however, children consume more non-Arabic content than ever before. Millions of children across the Arab world spend several hours daily watching television or online video. In several Arab Gulf countries, local sources report that Arabic-language cartoons make up less than a third of children’s programming; highlighting a gap in high-quality, culturally rooted content for Arabic-speaking young audiences. This trend contributes to declining Arabic fluency and a weakening cultural and pan-Arab connection.

The region is experiencing a quiet cultural shift. Imported -often translated rather than meaningfully localized- dominates screens, while much of our heritage and classical programming has not been modernized or made accessible to today's children. Without revitalization, Arab children risk losing both linguistic confidence and a sense of cultural grounding.
